Hotel hopping together! We love travelling so much and for me, it’s creating memories together that I value so much. ❤️ My mom and I have different style when travelling- I’m adventurous and love thrills activities while my mom is a stay-in-hotel person, has chill and laid-back vibes. We are yin and yang for each other when it comes to travelling, we learn to match each other energy and balance out!

1. What’s a tradition or special activity you share with your mom that you cherish the most and why?
It may seem as special to some, but my mum and I have lunch once every two weeks at the same restaurant in One Utama together and spend the whole day walking around, exploring the mall even if we don’t have anything to shop for.
This shared moment together is special to me because it’s a regular activity we engage and have fun in to enjoy time together. I was enamored with your lipstick case selections and had purchased one for myself. I remember showing it off to my mum the same day and she asked me to buy one for her too. This meant a lot of me because despite both of us loving makeup, we usually have different tastes in brands we like and the type of products we use. Since my mom is a single working mother with a 5-year-old son who has autism, it’s fairly stressful for her time to time. She and I rarely have time to spend together as mother and daughter. However, every special occasion like mother’s day, I will treat her some things she loves. Last year, I bought her flowers and treated her to some of her favourite food to share my appreciation for her hardwork, strength and dedication in life, especially in raising 2 children on her own. I guess a constant reminder is we always fix a time at least 2-3 times a month when my little brother goes to his dad on the weekend, me and my mom would take the time to go to places where we rarely explore and try new food outside of our comfort zone. As a whole, my mom has always been quite laid back and doesn’t follow a specific tradition but what’s more important to her is to open some space, spend time with family and cherish every moment together even during hard times.

Definitely her storytelling session every time she would feed me when I was a child where she would spontaneously come up with the most imaginative and creative stories with underlying moral values. I still remember that I would listen attentively to her stories with my eyes wide open. I was literally hooked to listening to my mother’s non-fictional stories for years and although I do not need to be fed now as I am all grown up but every time before I go to bed, I make sure that my mother tells me at least a story.

If we have the energy, we will continue with The Hobbit series but most of the time, we do that on day 2. But without fail every year we do a Lord of The Rings Marathon.
